Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026.
Arnbo is designed to minimise the personal data it keeps. The service lets you paste text, ask a question, or upload an image so that AI can explain the information in simpler language.
1. Who controls your data
For the Arnbo beta, Arnbo is responsible for deciding how personal data submitted through arnbo.co.uk is used. Privacy enquiries can be sent to privacy@arnbo.co.uk.
2. What we process
We may process: the text, questions, screenshots or photographs you submit; your selected language and audience mode; basic technical information needed to operate and secure the website; and information you send us if you contact Arnbo.
3. Why we process it
We process submitted content to provide the explanation you requested. We may process limited technical data for security, fraud prevention, reliability and troubleshooting. Where required, we may also process information to meet legal obligations or respond to legitimate requests.
4. Uploaded documents and images
Arnbo does not intentionally create a permanent archive of the documents, images or text you submit. Submitted content is sent for processing when you press Explain this. Arnbo currently has no user document library, no saved-history feature and no database designed to permanently store uploaded documents.
Do not upload passwords, PINs, authentication codes, full payment-card details, or information you do not have permission to share. Avoid uploading highly sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary.
5. AI processing
Arnbo uses the OpenAI API to process submitted content. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for service delivery and abuse monitoring unless a qualifying zero-data-retention arrangement applies.
6. Hosting and service providers
Arnbo is hosted using Vercel infrastructure and uses third-party service providers where needed to run the website and AI functionality. These providers may process limited technical or request data on Arnbo's behalf. Arnbo will only use providers that are appropriate for the service and will review data-processing arrangements as the product develops.
7. International processing
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred internationally, Arnbo will rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
8. How long we keep data
Arnbo's current retention approach is explained in the Data Retention Statement. In short, user-submitted documents and images are not intentionally stored permanently by Arnbo. Other limited records are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
10. Children
Arnbo may present explanations suitable for children, but children should not upload sensitive personal information. Where appropriate, a parent, guardian, school or responsible adult should supervise use. Users under 13 should use the service only with appropriate parental or guardian involvement.
11. Security
Arnbo uses HTTPS in production, server-side API credentials, restricted environment variables, no-store response controls on the AI endpoint, and data-minimisation measures. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should still avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.
12. Data deletion
See the Data Deletion Process for how to request deletion of personal data Arnbo actually holds.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Arnbo adds accounts, subscriptions, analytics, saved history or other functionality. The latest version will always be published on this page.
